I'm in my early seventies. Born in New Zealand, I've called Australia home since 1976. I've lived and worked overseas, was married for 24 years and raised four daughters. Later in life, I returned to travelling, worked in remote Australia and visited places I once only dreamed of seeing.

With more adventures and far-flung places on the horizon, I'm nowhere near finished.

So, why Global Catherine?

I've noticed people have a funny way of remembering me by where I'm from.

Once I was Gold Coast Catherine. Later, I became Catherine from Katherine.

But staying in one place was never really my plan.

I want to build a business I can take with me while I travel, wherever in the world I happen to be.

So Global Catherine simply fitted.

The name may be relatively new, but my interest in online business began years ago.

My friends and family thought I was crazy. Some of them still do.

Like many others, I began by searching for an online business that appealed to me.

Affiliate marketing. MLM. Drop shipping. Health products. Courses, programs and endless business opportunities.

I invested my time and effort, spent more money than I care to admit and joined one program after another.

But I wasn't getting the results so many others were achieving.

Eventually, I walked away and took my life in a completely different direction.

I went bush, working and living on a remote cattle station in the Northern Territory.

When I retired, I decided to give online business one more go.

I wanted to build an income that could help me continue travelling and living life on my own terms.

I thought a decade away might have changed the landscape. Instead, I found it noisier and more confusing than ever.

And this time, I realised what I'd been missing.

I had never understood that there were essential foundations behind every online business.

Without understanding this, I could keep changing businesses, joining programs and starting again, but I was unlikely to change my results.

I sometimes wonder how different things might have been if I'd understood this back in 2010.

But perhaps I simply wasn't ready to see it then.

This time, instead of searching for another online business, I started searching for the knowledge I was missing.

That search changed the way I looked at everything.

I believe far more people are capable of building a successful online business if they understand the essential foundations from the beginning.

With the right information, direction and consistency, more people could give themselves a genuine chance of succeeding.

Global Catherine isn't about convincing you to follow the same path.

It's about knowing where to begin and understanding what you need, before spending unnecessary time and money trying to work it all out as you go.
